What is Tyreseal?
Tyreseal is an Ethylene Glycol water soluble tyre sealant that when installed in a tyre will provide protection against air loss for the full legal life of the tyre.

How does it seal a hole in the tread of the tyre?
Tyreseal lays down a thin protective coating between the tyre and the air within the tyre.  When an object penetrates the tread area the air pressure within the tyre forces the sealant into the puncture wound.

How does it prevent rim / bead leaks?
The only way it will seal rim leaks is by taking the tyre out from the rim and then coat the rim bead area with the sealant, it is a long procedure.

What is the shelf life of Tyreseal?
For 5 years at least as long as the container is kept sealed and its in covered area, not in sunlight.

Does a penetrating object need to be removed even though Tyreseal has prevented a flat tyre?
Not always but for safety reasons, it is advisable.  Even though Tyreseal has sealed around the object, if it is left in the tyre, it will move as the tyre rotates and it will create a larger hole until air loss occurs.  If the object is a screw, you must unscrew it – do not pull it, as this will tear the rubber and possibly the steel belts.

Must a tyre be run after a penetrating object has been removed?
Yes. Although Tyreseal has covered the area left by the cavity, it has not entered it; therefore the tyre must be run in order to snap open the cavity and allow the Tyreseal to enter.  Once again, the vehicle must be driven after removal of the object.

Will Tyreseal settle in the pail and need to be stirred?
No. The ingredients are bonded together in such a manner that it is impossible for them to settle to the bottom.

Does Tyreseal react chemically with the rubber tyre?
No. Tyreseal is chemically inert.

Is Tyreseal affected by extreme temperatures?
Tyreseal has been tested to –45^oF (the maximum testing ability of the laboratory and has not frozen). Further, the sealant will remain in stable condition until heat is so extreme that the tyre itself will disintegrate.

Is Tyreseal water dispersible?
Yes.

Will Tyreseal rust the rim of the tyre?
No.  Tyreseal contains anticorrosive agents to prevent corrosion from occurring.  It will also help to inhibit any corrosion on the wheel prior to installation.

Does Tyreseal run to the bottom of the tyre when it is not in motion?
No. Tyreseal contains special adhesives which allow the product to adhere to the inner surface of the tyre except for a 25% residual which disperses evenly throughout the tyre when the tyre is in motion.

Can Tyreseal be used in a tube tyre?
Yes. However, we are unable to guarantee the success due to the tube splitting and condition of the tube.

Will Tyreseal seal a puncture in the sidewalls of a tyre?
No. It may seal the puncture, but due to the flexing in the sidewalls, a temporary plug would be a safety factor only.

Will Tyreseal create a hard plug in the tread area of the tyre?
No. The plug is designed to be flexible because the tyre flexes.  If the plug is hard and does not flex with the tyre, leakage will eventually occur.

Will Tyreseal dry out in the tyre?
No. Because the tyre is a closed container, no evaporation of the liquid can occur and it will remain in the same condition it was in when it was inserted into the tyre.

Can Tyreseal plug up the tyre valve while it is being inserted?
In some cases a polyethylene chip can create a blockage by preventing the rubber granules entrance. Should this happen, remove the pump connection and allow a short blast of air to clear the plug. Reattach the connection and continue pumping.

Can I pump against a truck tyre pressure of 100 lbs with the hand pump?
No. You can only pump up to 70 psi. Bring the pressure to 70 psi then install Tyreseal.

How does Tyreseal affect the life of the tyre?
Yes. Tyreseal will actually lengthen the life of the tyre by up to 20% as it will ensure that the correct air pressure is maintained in the tyre. Once Tyreseal has coated the inside of the tyre, it also keeps the temperature of the tyre cooler while driving and reduces degradation. 

Do I have to top up my tyres at any time?
No. Once your tyres have been treated with Tyreseal, it should last for the life-time of the tyre unless an object is stuck in.

Will Tyreseal cause wheel imbalance?
It is important that each tyre is treated with the correct amount of Tyreseal and also the tyre should be balanced on domestic vehicles. Once treated, drive your vehicle slowly and carefully for around 20 miles. This will allow the tyre to be fully coated evenly on the inside of the tyre. Once this process is complete, there should be no wheel imbalance.

Will Tyreseal seal all sizes of puncture?
Tyreseal will normally seal puncture sizes up to 1/4" (6 mm) diameter for domestic passenger vehicles up to 9 mm for on road commercial trucks and up to 12 mm for off-road building site vehicles within the tread area for the legal life of the tyre.

Can Tyreseal protect me from more than one puncture?
Tyreseal is designed seal multiple punctures on the crown area of the tyre and will still keep on working, protecting your tyres.

Is it legal to use Tyreseal in my tyres?
Yes it is legal. Most of the tyre manufacturing companies are using tyre sealant and we recommend tyreseal in your tyres for extra safety.

Will Tyreseal break down in the tyre if it is not used for a while?
Tyreseal will remain effective even when the vehicle has been left standing for months.

What should I do if I have a nail in my tyre after it has been treated with Tyreseal?
Pull the nail out and drive off immediately so that Tyreseal can seal the hole and continue protecting your tyre.
